Meet our Pastor, Rev. Dr. Murray FrickThe Rev. Dr. Murray Frick started his call to ministry with the IPC in August of 2006, Dr. Frick brings a wide variety of ministerial experience to the IPC family. Murray is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), having studied Music and Music Education as well as Religion and Philosophy at Culver-Stockton College, Religious Studies at the University of Chicago and the Practice of Ministry at Drew University. In addition, Murray has certification training in a variety of related fields, such as Clinical Pastoral Education, Critical Incident Stress Management, as a Senior Chaplain with the International Conference of Police Chaplains, as a Chaplain for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and as a member of the Spiritual Care Team with the National Transportation Safety Board/American Red Cross Crisis Response Team. Murray has served parishes in Missouri, Iowa and Wyoming and has most recently served as the Executive Director of the Broome County Council of Churches, an Ecumenical and shared Ministry where he directed a staff of 24 serving the outreach ministries of 134 Christian Congregations. Murray believes that the diversity of Christian tradition within the IPC is a unique strength: "The IPC represents the Body of Christ at its best; welcoming all people to share, grow and mature. This is a faith community where it is possible to be warmly welcomed, to live out our faith and practice in a loving Christian family and experience the exciting opportunities of practicing ministry and mission in the world." In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Murray as been active as a musician in Celtic and Renaissance ensembles and, along with his wife Sue, active in a variety of music organizations and community theatre roles as director, musical director, designer and technical designer, having won national and international recognition for his work in lighting design. Murray and Sue have three grown daughters. One is an actress, while two are university students, one studying in English and Deaf education and the other a soccer goalkeeper studying in Athletic Injury and Sports Physiology. Tiffany Fliss can be found behind the desk at the IPC office Monday through Thursday mornings. Tiffany is American and has lived in Belgium since 1988. Her 30 years of experience are in office administration and management for non-profit or educational organizations. Stop by and say hello to her and to the volunteers who are helping her support church activities! |
